2. Visiting this website
You can visit this website without telling us who you are. Each time a page is accessed, the web server automatically stores technical information that your browser sends in so-called server log files: date and time of the request, the page requested, your IP address, the URL from which you came to our site, the amount of data transferred and information about the browser and operating system you use.
We need this data to deliver the website and to keep it secure and stable. The legal basis is our legitimate interest under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The data is used exclusively for this technical purpose, is not combined with other data and is deleted as soon as it is no longer needed for this purpose, unless a statutory retention obligation applies.
This website is hosted by Render Services, Inc., 525 Brannan Street, Suite 300, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA, which processes the data described above on our behalf. Because Render is based in the United States, the data may be transferred to the USA. We have concluded a data processing agreement with Render that includes the EU Standard Contractual Clauses (Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR) to ensure an adequate level of data protection.
The same applies when you open snowtrade-royale.de. Render also hosts this domain, and it only forwards you to this website.
3. Enquiry form
If you send us an enquiry through the form on this website, we process the details you enter: season, preferred type of accommodation, destination, travel dates, number of adults and children, your name, your email address and, if you provide them, your telephone number and your message. We also record the language of the page from which you sent the enquiry.
We use this data only to answer your enquiry, to put together suitable suggestions for your stay and to communicate with you about it. Name and email address are required so that we can reply; all other details are voluntary. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (steps taken at your request prior to entering into a contract) and our legitimate interest in answering enquiries under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
The form transmits your details in encrypted form (HTTPS) to our application server at db.bookglds.com. Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestraße 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany, operates this server for us in a data center in Germany. From there your details are forwarded by email to our team. Amazon Web Services EMEA SARL, 38 Avenue John F. Kennedy, L-1855 Luxembourg, sends these emails from its Frankfurt am Main region in Germany. Our mailboxes are hosted by Zoho Corporation B.V., Utrecht, Netherlands, on servers in the EU. Hetzner, Amazon Web Services and Zoho act as our processors under data processing agreements. The parent company of Amazon Web Services is based in the USA and is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, for which the European Commission has adopted an adequacy decision (Art. 45 GDPR).
To protect the form against misuse, our application server counts the requests from each IP address and accepts at most five enquiries in two hours. It keeps this count only in its working memory. If an IP address exceeds the limit, our team receives an email with this IP address, the time and the requested address on our server. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in the security of our systems under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
Your personal data will only be passed on to third parties, such as a hotel or the owner of a chalet, if you decide to book and only to the extent necessary to carry out the booking (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR), or if we are legally obliged to do so. It will never be passed on for advertising purposes.
We delete your enquiry once it has been dealt with in full. If the enquiry leads to a booking, we keep the data for as long as statutory retention periods under commercial and tax law require.
4. Visitor statistics without cookies
To learn how visitors find and use this website, we use Umami, an open-source web analytics tool. We run Umami ourselves at analytics.bookglds.com, on a server in Germany that Hetzner Online GmbH operates for us under a data processing agreement. Umami sets no cookies and writes nothing to your device. Its script only checks whether your browser contains a setting that switches Umami off.
Umami records the page you visit and its title, the website you came from, your browser, operating system, device type, screen size and browser language, and the country, region and city derived from your IP address. It does not store your IP address. To count unique visitors, Umami calculates a code (hash) from your IP address, your browser details and a secret value that changes every month, so it cannot recognize you again in a later month. We do not use this data to identify you. When you send the enquiry form, Umami also counts this event with the season, the type of accommodation and the page language, but never with your name or contact details. The data stays on our server and is not passed on to third parties. Umami keeps the statistics until we delete them; we use them to compare visitor numbers over time.
The legal basis is our legitimate interest in improving this website under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. You can object to this processing at any time (Art. 21 GDPR), for example by email to us or by blocking analytics.bookglds.com in your browser.
This website does not use advertising services. The fonts are delivered from our own server, so your browser does not connect to Google or any other font provider when you visit this website.
5. Your rights
You have the right at any time to obtain information about the personal data we hold about you (Art. 15 GDPR) and to have it corrected (Art. 16 GDPR), deleted (Art. 17 GDPR) or its processing restricted (Art. 18 GDPR). You also have the right to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR) and to object to processing based on our legitimate interest (Art. 21 GDPR). Where processing is based on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7(3) GDPR).
A short email or letter to the address under section 1 is sufficient. We do not use automated decision-making or profiling within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR.
Right to object (Art. 21 GDPR)
Where we process your data on the basis of our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), you have the right to object to this processing at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation. We then stop the processing unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds that override your interests, rights and freedoms, or the processing serves to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. An email to the address under section 1 is sufficient.
Right to lodge a complaint (Art. 77 GDPR)
You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The authority responsible for us is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information Baden-Württemberg (Landesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz und die Informationsfreiheit Baden-Württemberg), Lautenschlagerstraße 20, 70173 Stuttgart, Germany.
6. Data security
We have taken technical and organizational measures to protect your data. All pages and the enquiry form are transmitted with TLS encryption. Nevertheless, data transmission over the internet, for example communication by email, can have security gaps.
